Spring Clean with Etesia

Spring is traditionally the time to clean up paths, roadways and hard surfaces and pick up fallen leaves and twigs from grassed areas in preparation for the summer. Since this is a seasonal job, it makes cost effective sense to take advantage of multi-functional equipment – especially in the current economic climate when budgets are tight.

With economy in mind, Etesia has a wide range of attachments which enable their Hydro 124, Hydro 100 and Hydro 80 ride-on mowers to carry out many tasks – all-year-round. These machines can not only help spread precious funding; but also enable commercial end users to win new contracts.

One of the most popular accessories is the front-mounted sweeper for cleaning roadways, car parks, pathways, playgrounds and other hard surfaces. This attachment can be fitted to either the Hydro 100 or Hydro 124 models – turning a ride-on mower into a 365-days-a-year workhorse.

Powered by the ride-on’s engine, and hydraulically driven via the PTO, the brush covers the full working width of the host machine. No special tools are required to fit the unit directly on to the mower’s front-mounted linkage. The brush can also be angled left or right according to the mode or work.

The polypropylene bristles are extremely hard wearing and very tough to ensure a firm scrub on pavements and other hard surfaces where they efficiently remove grime, debris and moss. There is an optional side rotary brush for clearing awkward areas, such as gutters and gullies. All rubbish is swept into the optional collection box and there is a dust protector for use when the brush is used without the box.

When mowing grass, Etesia’s ride-on rotaries offer commercial end users a unique anti-clog cutting and collecting system that provides outstanding performance, even in the wettest of conditions. The addition of attachments such as the sweeper transforms the lawnmower into a host power source to drive a multitude of turfcare and other equipment all year round.

Sustainability in Sport – Our Partnership with Forest Green Rovers

Sustainability in Sport was jointly launched in May 2011 at Gary Neville’s testimonial by Dale Vince, Founder of the green energy company, Ecotricity and Gary himself, so bringing the world of eco and sport together……

Gary is on a journey towards sustainability and is keen to use his influence and contacts to bring sustainable outcomes to the world of sport, from community to premiership level, not just in football but all sports. The aim of Sustainability in Sport is to engage governing bodies, players, fans and others across the UK and beyond – to create a movement for change.

Forest Green Rovers is becoming a test-bed for the Sustainability in Sport foundation which demonstrates the best ‘green’ tactics to recommend to sports clubs across the UK.

Etesia has chosen Forest Green Rovers as the UK pioneer for our fleet of emission-free pitch maintenance equipment. FGR Head Groundsman Stuart Ward is no stranger to innovation and is working towards creating Britain’s first organic football pitch at The New Lawn stadium. Last year, he also became the first person in Britain to trial Etesia’s Bahia M2E electric ride-on mower, an innovation now being used by the Church Commission in Westminster.

Ward said: “It’s really exciting to be trialling these new products, the robot in particular saves me time and there’s no more dirty fuel or noise to deal with.

“At the moment, we are Blue Square Premier club, so my time is always stretched. The time I used to spend mowing can now be utilised tending to the pitch in other ways to make it the best possible surface for the players.”

The new robotic mower will even help the club reach its target of creating a 100% organic pitch, by creating organic mulch which fertilizes the pitch as it works. Etesia UK General Manager, Les Malin said: “We feel FGR are setting the best example for other clubs, not just in football but in all sports. Forest Green Rovers is the first club in the country to use electric and robotic mowing for its pitch.”

Etesia hopes that Forest Green’s pioneering approach will spread across the UK industry.

The mower to bank on

The tremendous traction and performance of the Etesia Atilla 180 and Etesia Atilla SKF, fitted with our optional dual wheel kit, are effective brushcutters on uneven terrain and steep slopes of up to 27°. These machines allow you to safely tackle steep slopes and hillside verges with ease.

While slopes and hillsides add dimension to the landscape, those same slopes can be extremely dangerous to mow without the correct type of mowing equipment.

The Attila 180 Revolutionary ride-on brushcutter is perfect for safe mowing on banks and uneven terrain. Unique in its concept: automatic self-levelling keeps the operator, engine and controls upright, while the floating cutting decks follow uneven terrain contours, provide a safe environment on slopes up to 50%.

Automatic self-levelling
The exclusive self-levelling system on Etesia’s Attila 180 keeps the operator, engine and controls in a perfectly vertical position even when working on slopes up to 27°.

Floating cutting decks
The 1.8 m cutting deck is made up of two centrally articulated sections. To guarantee flawless cutting, the wheels read the contours of the ground enabling the floating cutting decks to follow the lay of the terrain: flat ground, slopes, hill-sides, gullies, top and bottom of banks. Rear ejection onto the cut surface ensures greater safety.

Optimum conditions
Fitted with a slope alarm that sounds on banks above 27°, an operator presence switch and comfortable seat, low noise, ease-of operation and good visibility minimise operator fatigue. The Attila 180 meets all the standards in force for excellent operator safety.

The mower to bank on
Powered by a 30hp Yanmar water-cooled 3 cylinder diesel engine, Attila A180 has hydrostatic drive, power steering and hydraulic drive to the cutting units. It is specially designed for large sites: – motorway banks, industrial estates, reservoir banks and other uneven terrain.

The Atilla SKF ride-on brushcutter, fitted with our optional dual wheel kit is effective on uneven terrain and steep slopes of up to 25°. Fitted with tyres of an agrarian profile, with a very low centre of gravity and optimised weight distribution (33% to the front, 67% to the rear) ensure easy driveability and stability on banking.

The differential lock with foot control is very practical in use and will allow you to retain control while mowing on slopes, even if a drive wheel loses grip. Fitted with a profiled mowing deck and reversible swing tip blades (85 cm cutting width), the system allows mowing in difficult conditions.

Hand or foot control for drive transmission, from 0 to 10 km/h: select the control you prefer and adapt your speed precisely to the terrain (slopes, obstacles etc.) or grass for closely controlled mowing.

Easy driving
The Atilla SKF is fitted with a cruise control system to maintain your working speed, a feature that is highly appreciated while mowing large areas. Silent, low vibration, thanks in particular to its soundproofed housing and silent block mounted engine, the Attila SKF sets the standards in the area of comfort and use. It cuts the noise levels of market standards by up to half. You will feel the difference, especially during prolonged use.

A mower that can be adapted to your build…The seat has armrests and moves forward and back on a rail for adjustment, the seat suspension firmness is adjustable, as is the steering wheel tilt.

Driving pleasure
The steering system is responsive, smooth and requires no effort. The wheel has a knob for dynamic and enjoyable driving, especially on rougher terrain or with obstacles. All the controls are accessible from the driver’s seat for maximum comfort and greater safety.

Many features as standard
Dashboard controls: ignition, blade start-up, lamps, horn and maintenance/operation hour counter are centralised on the dashboard. Towing ring, drawbar (for trailer), front lamp, horn and seat armrests all come as standard.

Safe in every respect
In addition to compliance with all the applicable standards and directives, the Attila SKF goes even further in terms of safety: The parking brake is controlled with a pedal and is very easy to apply and release. The pedal position is designed to be extremely ergonomic. Tank filling is clean and safe – a retention duct drains away extra fuel in the event of a spill.

Practical maintenance
Nothing needs to be removed to change the engine oil, thanks to a valve fitted on the engine. The valve is extended by a pipe that drains the oil away to the rear of the machine from where it can be collected easily. No removal for changing the oil and replacing the drive transmission filter, with easy access to the rear of the machine.

With Etesia, you can mow slopes with confidence, security, and ease to give you the ultimate bank mowing experience.

Ensure Your Mower is a 365 Days a Year Workhorse!

etesia_attachments_top

Many grounds maintenance tasks, such as snow clearance, sweeping and spreading salt or fertiliser, are seasonal activities, which often results in costly dedicated equipment lying idle during long periods of the year. With budgets being cut across the board, it makes sense where possible to purchase an attachment which can be driven off an existing power source.

With its wide range of attachments, the range of Etesia mowers are cost effectively transformed into multi-tasking, all-year-round workhorses for a wide-etesia_attachments_siderange of applications including snow clearing and salt/sand spreading.

At times like this, end users realise the true multi-tasking value of an Etesia ride-on. Our accessories such as the snow plough or salt/sand spreader are keenly priced so keeping roadways and paths clear is a very cost effective operation. Our customers have discovered that for a relatively small investment they can be prepared without the need to have expensive dedicated equipment lying idle during long periods of the year.

The options include:

· A snow blade which can be angled to the right or left and lifted for transportation between sites.
· Wheel (or snow) chains providing grip for quick and safe snow clearance.
· An easy-to-attach, quick release spreader for distributing salt or sand.

For operator comfort in cold, snowy or wet conditions, there is also a glass-panelled cab with optional heater available.

All Etesia accessories are easily fitted to most ride-on models in the range.

ET Mowers – They Mow, you Don’t

A perfect result every time

The area to be covered by ETESIA’s robot ETmower is marked out by a low voltage peripheral cable buried in the ground. Once this has been installed, your robot ETESIA ETmower gets to work automatically, according to your programming (Timing, frequency, etc), and cuts the grass without any fuss. Statistically, each square metre will be mown at least three times each week. More frequent mowing means an impeccable finish, leaving your lawn looking neat and clean all the time.

No more mowing for you

Robot mowers mow lawns perfectly without any human intervention. You can get on with doing what you want to do, and leave your ETESIA robot robots_sideETmower to do its job.

Economical and environmentally friendly mowing

Robot mowers reduce the cost of lawn maintenance considerably, not only in terms of labour and maintenance costs, but also by cutting your energy bill, because they are electrically powered. Mulch mowing is 100% natural: it does away with the need to gather up, store and dispose of the cuttings, it fertilises the soil, and it helps the lawn to stand up to drought conditions. CO2 emissions are much lower than for conventional powered mowers.

Why choose an Etesia Robot Mower?

• Give a perfect cut and perfect finish each and every time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
• Reduce the cost of grass maintenance considerably, not only in terms of labour and maintenance costs but also by cutting your energy bill.
• Mulch mowing is 100% natural and does away with the need to gather up, store and dispose of the cuttings, while fertilising the soil and helping it stand up to drought conditions. Co2 emissions are much lower than for conventional powered petrol/diesel mowers.
• Totally safe
• Totally automated
• Easy to use and they look after themselves
• Designed, manufactured and installed by professionals

How does it work?

Totally safe. The built-in sonar’s and sensors detect obstacles and manage appropriate reactions: slowing down, stopping, or changing direction. A contact switch stops the blades rotating immediately if the mower is lifted off the ground. The cutting blades are fitted with protective deflectors. This eliminates all risk of accidental injury, particularly when children or animals are around. The personal security code and geo-localisation dissuade potential thieves (ETm65 and ETm105 models).

Totally automated. Mowing is programmed in random mode (the route followed is never the same). ETESIA’s robot ETmower moves at a fast cruising speed (up to 3.6 km per hour), which means they can mow large areas quickly. Their nonslip wheels and powerful motors enable them to deal with difficult terrain and slopes of up to 30%. ETESIA’s robot ETmower is fitted with floating decks, and cutting units each fitted with three stainless steel cutting blades, which retract automatically if they come into contact with an uneven surface (mounds, molehills, etc.). This cutting system prevents damage to lawns and ensures a constant cutting height, which can be adjusted from 22 mm.

They look after themselves. If your robot needs to recharge its batteries, it automatically goes to its charging station and resumes mowing once it is fully charged. If the lawn doesn’t need mowing, your robot mower detects this and stays docked while the grass grows. If any incident occurs, your robot mower will send you an SMS* alert message, indicating the type of incident that has occurred, and its position.

Easy to use. Once your ETESIA fitter has installed the peripheral cable and configured your robot ETmower, all you need to do is enter your settings (timing, frequency, etc.) and let your robot get to work, following your instructions. On-board IT makes it possible to automate mowing and optimise quality and savings – the robot works on its own, without supervision. The robot’s activity is memorised and can be consulted, so that productivity can be calculated.

Designed, manufactured and installed by professionals. ETESIA’s robot ETmower has been designed and manufactured very carefully, in Europe. They are installed, started up and serviced by garden specialists who are approved and trained by ETESIA. They are your best guarantee that your installation will function perfectly.
